This session addresses how scientific and engineering breakthroughs in nanotechnology-based gas sensors are enabling cost and size reduction needed for widespread integration into Smart Home IoT devices. By delivering granular-level data on indoor air pollutants (e.g. formaldehyde, NO2, etc.) embedded sensors in air purifiers, alarm devices, smart speakers, HVAC systems, etc., generate actionable data to automate actions including air purification, opening windows, starting ventilation or alerting users to leave the environment or remove hazards.
