AT10: Giant Magnetoresistance Sensor Technology Revolutionized for Ferromagnetic Sensing

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Magnetic sensors are critical to the operation of automotive systems, particularly the transmission and engine.  These magnetic sensors are used to sense ferrous gears to determine position, timing, and speed of the system. However, with the need for better fuel economy, emissions, torque and horsepower, these sensors are reaching the boundaries of existing sensing technologies, Hall effect being the most common. Magnetically back biased GMR technology expands the boundary, providing a solution for the future. In this session, learn about the use of GMR technology in ferromagnetic applications, understand how GMR provides increased sensor capability and what that means to the application, and learn why the application needs to improve capability for the industry.
