IoT protocols and connectivity options create exciting possibilities for scalable, low-power and low-throughput sensor networks. However, an application security layer on top of these networks is often needed, to make the communications less vulnerable to increasing cyberattacks. Luckily, implementing hardware authentication at the edge is simpler than many designers realize. This session identifies key vulnerabilities and discuss concrete solutions for improving security in low throughput connected edge devices with hardware secure elements.
