3D time-of-flight (ToF) technology has become a viable sensor method for enabling collaborative working environments for humans and industrial robots. This session provides an overview of ToF sensing and signal processing, performance characterization, calibration, and special considerations required for safety certification with emphasis on how this technology pertains to the speed and separation monitoring of large industrial robots used in industrial manufacturing.
