This session details an application that required the employment of multiple modern technologies to solve a unique industrial challenge. Micron level resolution gap measurement isn’t easy when the equipment is rotating at fast speeds with an inaccessible, serrated target.

We’ll dive into how adapting capacitive gap sensing technology originally developed for the high precision needs of the semiconductor industry, was combined with wireless transmission to upgrade an existing textile machine for higher performance and reduced maintenance. We’ll also explore other applications that can benefit from this unconventional approach.
